Transit to Green Space

When:

Saturday, Jul 19, 2008
through Saturday, Jul 19, 2008

9:30am – 12:30pm

Details:

Ever longed to get out of the city to a wild place without using your car, or wanted to try taking your bike on the light rail train?

Join us for a bike and transit oriented outing to the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Bloomington.

We’ll take the train with our bikes to the Bloomington Central station and then bike the short distance to the refuge visitors’ center. Here we’ll enjoy the exhibits, birdlife and wonderful views over the Minnesota Valley; then we’ll bike approximately 2 miles to the Bass Ponds to check out the trails and wildlife. We’ll return via light rail from the Mall of America station.

Outing limited to 10 bicyclists due to space on the trains.

Be sure to bring: Fare for train ($1.50 each way), your bike and helmet (required), water, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.

Please RSVP to Outing Leader.

Rating: Easy

Directions:

Meet at the 46th street Hiawatha Light Rail Transit (LRT) station near Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis. For directions, click here.
