Urban Wetlands: Bird Walk - CANCELED
When:
Saturday, Apr 26, 2008
7:30 am to 10:30 am
Details:
You don't have to leave the city to enjoy nature!
Just west of the busy Eden Prairie center is a wetland that often hosts several hard-to-find shorebirds, as well as ducks and songbirds during migration. Join us for an early morning walk through the Purgatory Creek Recreation Area to witness this wildlife in its habitat.
The trail is mostly flat and offers some up-close opportunities to view wetlands residents such as turtles, muscrats and herons. We will loop around the wetland, about two and a half miles, with an option to hike a side trail to nearby Staring Lake, an additional half-mile. Bring comfortable shoes good for walking, water and a snack. Binocluars and field guides are useful, too. All ages welcome.
