Details: Join us for a day (and night if you like) at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and Sierra Club's Special Place at Cabin Creek. Cabin Creek is one of the areas the Sierra Club has identified and is working to preserve. Come see for yourself why it's so special, and learn about the area from Minnesota County Biological Survey ecologist, Lawson Gerdes. Lawson will lead the pre-hike discussion at Wolf Ridge over lunch and will join us on the hike in the afternoon. A bag lunch is provided at $5/person. Lodging for 12 (three 4-person cabins with bunks) is available Saturday night at Wolf Ridge for $22.50/person. Linens available for an additional $5. Bring sturdy hiking boots and a small pack to carry water for the hike. You may also want to bring a snack for the hike. The hike will last 3 or 4 hours. No dogs on this trip. RSVP to Outing Leaders. Rating: Moderate Directions: To Wolf Ridge: Head north out of the Twin Cities on 35 to Duluth. Follow Highway 61 approximately 66 miles north of Duluth to County Road 6 in Little Marais. There is a brown sign marking the turn to Wolf Ridge. Take a left on County Road 6. Travel 3 miles to the Wolf Ridge driveway (Cranberry Road). Follow the driveway 3 miles to the ridgetop.
